Dr. Barry Perlin D.D.S.
Dr. Perlin has been practicing general dentistry for over 20 years.
He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1987. He has obtain advanced education from the Dawson Center for the Advancement of Dentistry, the Kois Center, the Hornbrook Center for Advanced Clinical Education, and the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education. Dr. Perlin has also completed advanced training in the use of Invisalign and advanced training & certification in the use of Botox and Injectable Fillers.
Through his initiative, Dr. Perlin was one of the first dentists in the state of Illinois to offer digital x-rays and one of the first dentists in Chicago to become an Invisalign Premier Provider. While continuing to provide general dentistry services, his growing specialty is Invisalign clear braces.
Dr. Lina Jonynas D.D.S.
With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Jonynas is an expert, cutting edge dentist who has what it takes to help your smile. A licensed dental professional with advanced training by some of the best in the business, she is committed to each and every patient to look & feel their best.
Her work has been seen in publications such as Chicago Magazine and Chicago Social, and her results graced the smiles of models & celebrities. No matter who you are or where you are from, Dr. Jonynas can relate and help you achieve a style that’s right for you. Inspired by the thrill she gets from helping people recharge their smile. Dr. Jonynas brings an abundance of skill and commitment to her guests.
Dr. Jonynas graduated from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1987. She regularly attends conferences and educational events across the United States for advanced training and is in demand as an expert. As your personal dentist, Dr. Jonynas takes every face shape, coloration and personality into consideration to make sure you get a gorgeous smile you’ll love.
Dental Hygienists / Assistants
Krista Rohl
Krista joined Smiles by Design as a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2007, after obtaining her degree from Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois. She is licensed in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide sedation. A member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Krista is looking forward to furthering her education.
Jameelah T. Frazier
Dental Assistant Jameelah joined Smiles by Design in 2006 after graduating from Toledo Dental Academy in 2004. She has since continued her education, obtaining expertise with Invisalign. Jameelah is a member of the American Dental Assistants Association. She loves the fun work environment and genuine teamwork of the staff.
Tracy D. Carberry
Tracy has been with Smiles by Design (off & on) since the beginning in 1993 as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She graduated Phi Theta Kappa from Prairie State College. After a stint with a periodontal dental practice in the suburbs, she recently returned to the Smiles by Design team. She is licensed in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration.
Irma Camacho
Irma has been with Smiles by Design since 2000, starting as a dental assistant. After receiving her certificate from the University of Illinois at Chicago, she began her current role as Dental Hygienist. Irma continues her dental education, focusing on periodontal methods, the OCSE and laser technologies.
Lisa DiVagno
Lisa has been a dental hygienist with Smiles by Design since 2000. She received her certification from Ohio State University in 1992. Lisa is continuing her education, focusing on laser, nitrous oxide and Invisalign certification, and dental management. She loves working at Smiles by Design, where doctors place full trust in her clinical skills, and working with a great team.
Faye Newton Elston
Faye has worked as Dental Assistant for Smiles by Design since 2007. She provides time efficiency, organizational, problem solving and training solutions to the practice. Since graduating from Mildun Dental School in 2002, she has continued her education, furthering her education in office management and Invisalign. She loves the upbeat atmosphere of the practice and contributes to it on a daily basis.
Office Support Team
Tammi Landfair-Jackson
Tammi is Smiles by Design’s Office Manager. She graduated from Byrman College in 1990. Since joining Smiles by Design in 1994, Tammi has continued her education, focusing on office management as well as becoming a Dental Assistant and gaining expertise with Invisalign. Tammi loves working at Smiles by Design and considers her co-workers as her family away from home.
Doris Stablein
Doris started working as Treatment & Hygiene Coordinator for Smiles by Design in 2007. She has obtained certifications in medical billing as well as Invisalign and specializes in benefits and customer service. Doris is continuing her education, focusing on Invisalign. She says “this is the best office to work in!”
Shahin Hofmeister
Shahin is Smiles by Design’s receptionist and front desk coordinator. She began working for the practice in 2008, after working in other areas of the dental industry for 4 years. Shahin aids Smiles by Design’s bilingual capabilities by speaking fluent Spanish. She has been overwhelmed by her experience at Smiles by Design, the staff’s welcoming natured and the practices family atmosphere.
