Mouthwashes
Most mouthwashes are nothing more than mouth perfume, containing alcohol, which is not healthy to the oral tissues. The most famous is Listerine.
There is a new breed of mouthwash on the market now, which work by actually binding or neutralize the volatile sulfur compounds. Not only do they work, but they seem to keep your breath fresher for a longer period of time.
Products such as
BreathRx™,
Tooth and Gum Tonic™, and
Oxyfresh™ have their own proprietary compound that works on these VSC, but they seem to work better than regular mouth wash. And all these products don’t contain alcohol. These products are only sold at a dental office.
Smiles by Design carries the BreathRx™ products, which have a line of other products like tongue scrapers, toothpaste, and breath mints that contain the same chemical as in the mouthwash. We also carry the Tooth and Gum Tonic™ mouthwash, which according to a clinical study by an independent dental research group has the longest activation time for neutralizing odors. Many people find this mouthwash a little too strong for their taste.
